Al Marjan Island

Al Marjan Island is in Ras Al Khaimah, in the Al Jazirah Al Hamra area, and this page will keep saying so because the distinction changes everything about the commute. Ras Al Khaimah's own tourism authority puts the island around 45 minutes' drive from Dubai International Airport. Downtown Dubai is longer, around an hour and a quarter or more on third-party estimates.

There is no metro. Ras Al Khaimah has no metro system at all, and the emirate runs on RAK Transport Authority buses and taxis. RAKTA's own network includes a route from Al Nakeel to Al Manar Mall, but no dedicated route to Al Marjan Island appears on its page, so plan on driving.

We are not naming a specific highway into the island. No official source states one, and guessing an E-number on a page buyers will act on is not something we do.

The nearest named international school is RAK Academy Al Hamra, which teaches the National Curriculum for England adapted for the UAE from Pre-K to Grade 5, with a secondary campus expanding through 2026 to 2027. It sits on the outskirts of neighbouring Al Hamra Village, which makes it the closest by geography rather than by any claim the school itself makes.

RAK Academy also runs a Khuzam campus, Pre-K to Grade 12 on British and IB curricula, and an Al Rams campus for early years and primary. Both are further from the island than Al Hamra. British School Al Hamra, established 2018 and teaching FS1 to Year 6, is also in the Al Hamra area, though that one rests on a third-party profile rather than the school's own site.

Al Manar Mall is confirmed to exist and to be served by RAK's own public transport network, appearing by name in RAKTA's city bus route naming.

We could not fetch the mall's own site or confirm a distance or drive time from Al Marjan Island, so this page gives neither.

The island's case is its waterfront: 7.8 kilometres of sandy beach and 23 kilometres of waterfront along a palm-lined corniche, with beachfront restaurants, parks and children's play areas along it.

The running and cycling track hosts the RAK Half Marathon each February. The event markets itself as the world's fastest half marathon, which is the organiser's own claim rather than something we have checked.

Wynn Al Marjan Island is the development reshaping the island's profile. It is the UAE's first licensed casino resort, reached structural topping out in December 2025 with all guest-room structures complete, and Wynn Resorts' CEO confirmed on 5 August 2026 that it will open in September 2027. Reported project cost has moved between sources in the range of roughly 5 to 5.7 billion US dollars.

RAK Hospital is the area's main private option, a tertiary care hospital established in 2007 with its main campus in Al Qusaidat, covering cardiac, neurology, orthopaedics, maternity and 24-hour emergency services.

Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital is also named as serving the wider Ras Al Khaimah and Al Hamra area. We could not confirm it against the hospital's own site, so treat that one as unconfirmed and verify before relying on it.
